Pennsylvania Orphan Care Alliance
Statement of Faith

As Pennsylvania Orphan Care Alliance (POCA) we hold solidly to the reformation principals of:

  • Grace Alone

  • Faith Alone

  • Christ Alone

  • Scripture Alone

  • Glory of God Alone

  1. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, as is clearly taught in the Scriptures.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of
God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Matthew 19:25-26 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift,
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

2. We also believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, lived a sinless life, died as payment for our sin, rose
bodily from the grave on the third day, and is the only way to salvation, as is clearly taught in the Scriptures.

Matthew 16:15-16 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.”

Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law.

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in
every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

John 14:5-6 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Acts 4:11-12 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.
12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we
must be saved.”

3. We also hold to the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture as the sole source and norm for all of our
teachings

2 Timothy 3:16-17:  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction,
and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

We hold to these truths humbly and yet with great conviction because our desire is to see the state of Pennsylvania
transformed by the love of God that is found in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge our own imperfection in carrying
out this mission that God has given to us and rely totally on the grace of God that is found in Jesus Christ our
Savior and Lord. To God alone be glory!

Statement on Biblical Marriage: We view marriage as ordained and instituted by God for the lifelong relationship
between one man as husband and one woman as wife. (Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:21-25)
