Morgan is the 5th generation to farm Mahoning Creek Farm with her family in Smicksburg, PA, where they have raised livestock for over 100 years. Prior to returning to the family farm, Morgan worked as a case manager for Bell Socialization Services in York City, PA, where she worked with children and families with CYF involvement. Morgan was deeply impacted by her experience working with vulnerable children and their biological families, and also had the opportunity to see the challenges facing the child welfare system and the importance of strong foster families first hand. Morgan also completed her Masters of Social Work at Millersville University during this time. Like many social workers who work in this demanding field, Morgan experienced burn out and returned to the agriculture field that she had grown up with, including time working as a Farm Manager for a non-profit. However, she continued to follow the work of the Centre County Orphan Care Alliance through all this time, feeling that it provided just the type of resources that would have truly helped the children and families she worked with as a social worker. Upon returning to Indiana County in January 2022, Morgan was thrilled to learn of the PA Orphan Care Alliance’s work in Western PA and is honored to help start this movement in the Indiana County community. She is passionate about increasing stability and permanency for vulnerable children, equipping the Church to care for vulnerable kids and families, and providing support and encouragement to the helping professionals in our community who are working so hard to care for kids. When she’s not farming or spending time with friends and family, Morgan enjoys hiking, hunting, and fishing in the great outdoors.
